The results are in. Election of State Bar of Texas leaders by Texas attorneys concluded on April 30, 2015. More than 93,000 lawyers are licensed to practice law in Texas, and yet less than ten percent (10%) of those lawyers cast a ballot for State Bar President-Elect and district representatives. Voting for government leaders sets us apart from many nations in the world. But, I question whether we are a nation "of the people, by the people and for the people" when so few of those eligible to vote exercise that right. Will the turnout for the local city council and school board elections on Saturday continue a trend of letting a few choose for everyone? Make your vote count.
